Now is the time to demand that neighboring countries and the international community apply every possible form of pressure to force Hamas to release the hostages and surrender.
Respectfully, the nature of your question comes from someone who clearly doesn’t live here and is missing integral experiences of being an Israel.
Nobody here absolves Hamas of Qatar. these are terrible organizations that wanna see me dead. I would never expect anything of them.
I, however, have expectations from my government. I pay taxes here, I live with a threat of terrorism here, and I deserve to demand that my government prioritize me and the rest of society above anything else.
Our government does not have the trust of the people. And it has presented no plan on what the day after for Gaza actually looks like at the expense of hostages.
Instead, they’re going against the vast majority of what the public wants, which is returning the hostages, many of who were simply kidnapped from their beds.
Like the title says, we want our hostages home more than we want the war continuing.
However, even if somebody disagrees with the vast majority of Israeli public opinion and believe that they know better than us, then at the very least, don’t be excited about us returning to war. It is us at the end of the day that are being woken up at 4 AM by these rockets from the Houthis.
Was Hamas giving the hostages back? No. That's why the war resumed. And if Hamas remains in power in Gaza, get ready to lose even more hostages to them -perhaps even your own loved ones. Your position seems contradictory. Of course the war is horrible - no one should celebrate it - but it is only being fought to prevent MORE hostages from being taken.
I know Israelis want the hostages home, but what are you willing to give hamas in order to do that. That is the question I keep asking and nobody answers. Hamas is not going to disarm voluntarily, it is not going to leave Gaza voluntarily, it is going to usurp any monies sent to rebuild gaza, and it will reconstitute and you will still not get all the living hostages back. But you will have an islamist terror group at your border preparing with the help of their allies for an even bigger and more violent attack than Oct 7. So what are you willing to live with? What danger are you willing to accept?
Also why do the protestors blame Bibi and not Hamas and Qatar for the latest impasse?
(PS I am not a Bibi fan. But my question is simply ignroed so I assume these protests really are more about getting rid of Bibi than anything else. Trying in a machiavellian way to get rid of him because they know they would never get every hostage back anyway)

You are a democracy: vote Netanyahu out of office.
Some of us want Hamas defeated even more.
